Boldness in an uncertain world

I left my career in private banking about 9 years ago, with no idea as to what was next. I just knew that I wasn’t happy with what I was doing and my path at that stage wasn’t serving me. I had found a spark of joy in this thing called “social media” and had gone down a rabbit hole to learn more about it - a rabbit hole I didn’t want to climb back out of.

I jumped off the corporate ladder with only one idea: I knew things that other people didn’t, and they would likely hire me for these things that I knew. I wanted to tell everybody about it. I wanted to help businesses. I also wanted to pay my rent. And that’s how Social Ideas was born.

I had no idea if it would work. I had no idea how to go about it. I had no idea where it would lead. What I did know was that I had to give it a go.

I’ve worked hard and smart over the years, performed in and out of my comfort zone and grown as a person and a leader. I’ve worked with amazing brands and even more amazing people. I’ve nurtured long-standing client relationships and amicably let go of ones that were toxic. I’ve been bitten by snakes in the industry, but also found solace with companies who really want to make the world a better place.

I could not have predicted this all 9 years ago when I had a simple idea and a passion. In this world of uncertainty, boldness reigns supreme. Sometimes all it takes is an idea and the drive to see it through.

What's yours? And what are you going to do about it?

“I would rather be a hot mess of bold action, a make it happen learn on the fly kind of person, than a perfectly organized coward.” Brendon Burchard
